Poor health and lack of employment have a significant impact on the social and economic wellbeing of Sheffield City residents.
In an attempt to improve the coherence of employment support for people with disabilities and long term health conditions, Sheffield City Council and DWP have commissioned a demonstration pathway with the aims of improving employment and health outcomes for ESA claimants.
FireDog Research were commissioned to establish the success or effectiveness of the Pathway.
Working closely with the three providers, beneficiaries and funders we completed a number of evaluation activities including interviews, conducting site visits and joining the delivery of courses.
Our interim report provided insight on themes which will be the basis of improvement in the current pilot, as well as identifying issues which could usefully be considered prior to roll out into mainstream provision.
